Little Hannah gave her lovely Ma and Pa a big fright when she decided to arrive 8 weeks early. The only thing fully grown on her is that head of gorgeous hair! At 16 weeks little Hannah has no shortage of hugs and love, not only from her doting parents, but her canine sister Holly, who had her chance in the limelight with some pretty portraits too.

It was my great pleasure to again assist and second shoot at this beautiful day with the magnificent Catherine Cattanach. There is nothing quite so pretty as a spring wedding, and Alice and Rick coordinated their decoration perfectly to match with the beautiful cherry blossoms that adorned The Landing in Masterton. Anyone who attended my own wedding nearly two whole years ago will know my weakness for cotton bunting, and arrays of cottage flowers. In fact if I could have my wedding again, I think I might have it EXACTLY the same as Alice and Ricks. It was, like, crazy pretty.

It was a gorgeously fine morning, despite a dire forecast. But just as the bride came down the aisle, the gentlest of fresh showers rained down, in an extremely romantic way.
The weather fined up again for most of the ceremony until it came time for the kiss – I swear the rain Gods have got their timing down pat! Although some bigger drops come on in earnest just in time for the family group photos after the ceremony, which was less than ideal from a photographer’s assistant’s point of view. Two hands are not quite enough when umbrellas are involved. At one point I found myself covering Catherine’s (HUGE) gear bag with my body like a parent taking a bullet for their child. Commitment!

This wedding also provided the first opportunity for me to test out my new dual body set up and my brand new (insanely amazing) 135mm f2.0 – this lens… there are no words. I’m in love. Its so fun to be able to spy on people from a distance, so I can capture them completely as they are, unaware that they are being photographed. And to get up close during the ceremony without getting in the way of Grandma is absolutely essential to me.

All in all, this beautiful wedding was the perfect way to start the new season. I am ITCHING to get to my first own wedding next weekend when the lovely Sophia and Tim make things official at the Gear Homestead. Hippity hop! I am so excited!

Ok, let’s start this rather extensive post, with Rick getting ready. This is the part of the day that I take control over while Catherine covers the girls…

The boys had a bit of time to kill before the ceremony, so entertained themselves with some tennis and croquet.

Many thanks as always to Catherine for having me along. It is always a joy. And so many big thanks for Alice and Rick for throwing such a quality bash, and allowing me and my camera to come along and capture some of the best bits. It was a blast! I hope your married life is equally fun, and equally beautiful. Although perhaps with a little less rain.

And thanks to you too, my silent reader – I’m convinced you’re out there. Why not leave me a comment and let me know what you think? It would be a wonderful change to have a comment that isn’t spam!

At 19 months my littlest housemate for the NZIPP InFocus weekend in Christchurch, is pretty much the cutest kid I’ve ever met. Ok, I know I say that about all the cuties I meet, but seriously, Fox. Is. ADORABLE. I don’t think I saw him without a smile and giggle the whole 5 days I was staying. I want him!

These two little darlings belong to my lovely friend and ex workmate, Kylie.

Work (the day-job, sigh) without the daily saga of Kylie’s pregnancy is infinitely less entertaining. I remember clearly her thrilled expression when she first announced that she was pregnant, and the slightly terrified look when she found out she was having twins. But none of us expected two perfect, beautiful, delicious identical girls. GIRLS! I think I might have jinxed her when I told her I would have to buy her boys pink presents because they were prettier.

Charlotte and Ella were 4 weeks young when I met them for their photo shoot, but after arriving 6 weeks early they were still perfectly sleepy and bendy – ideal for newborn photos.

It was with some trepidation that I approached my first ever newborn twin shoot, but I was so thrilled with how these photos turned out. I just love newborn sessions.I still have a few complimentary newborn sessions for November and December if you are about to become a Mum – flick me and email!
