These two are the real deal! Stay tuned for their wedding blog post, it was a truly exceptional day!
Well, yes, I won’t go on ad nauseum, but it would be fair to say that this poor blog has suffered some serious neglect this wedding season. Time to update you all on the incredible weddings I’ve had the pleasure of capturing this season.
First up, not quite 6 months ago (argh!) some old friends of mine were married in a low key registry ceremony, then followed up with some adorable portraits at the Botanical Gardens. I love the style Harriet chose – her hair/dress/shoes were all perfectly vintage and her gorgeous Twig and Arrow bouquet tied everything together perfectly.
Last week I took an impromptu adventure up to Auckland to photograph potter Felicity Donaldson of Wundaire. Her pit fired earthenware and gorgeously imperfect kiln roasted ceramics are becoming highly sought after items in arty circles. Not only is her pottery TO DIE FOR but this is one cool flossy who’s whole lifestyle and home is somewhat of a photographers dream. After taking a few snaps in the studio, we took a walk to Bethell’s Beach on a superlatively hot day, then returned for a completely delicious lunch served up on Felicity’s handywork. It was reckless and crazy to take a day out during peak wedding season but it was also a greatly needed creative butt-kick to get away from the desk and out into the air, if only for a day.
