2013 NZIPP IRIS Awards | Wellington Professional Photographer

So if you follow me on facebook, you’re probably well up to date with my success at the recent NZIPP Iris Awards. I made a goal last year to enter the maximum of 10 prints in this years awards. I started regretting that foolhardy choice in the run up to the awards when I realised how much work is involved in entering each print, but I achieved my goal. I made another flighty goal that I might achieve my NZIPP Associates medal – which would involve earning at least 7 points at the Irises this year (one point is awards for every bronze, two for silver, 3 for gold awards). Lo and behold I achieved that one too! I can’t wait to get my medal in the post when my prints are returned!

My goal for next year? The lofty dream of GOLD. Some serious thinking and hard work will be involved in that one, with just a touch of good luck too.

All up, out of 10 prints I won 5 bronzes and 2 silvers, a great haul for anyone, but particularly a second time entrant. I could not be happier, nor prouder. I worked hard this year and created images specially for the Irises, I decided to try out some new techniques and create some concept images from scratch, which was a great learning opportunity and gave me an excuse to push the limits – thank you to all of my gorgeous models!

Everyone keeps asking me, so here are my award winning prints from 2013:
