Katie + Stuart | The Lodge Pauahatanui Wedding

Katie and Stuart are just like a fairytale, or a Taylor Swift song. They met when Stuart’s family moved into the house next door to Katie’s. If the wedding speeches are to be believed, a lot of shirtless lawn mowing ensued. While Katie’s two best friends were lacing up her wedding dress in her childhood bedroom, we caught a glimpse of Stuart out of the window as he headed to their ceremony. There was something quite Rapunzel-ish about it all.

They were married in late January on a blistering hot day, at St Margaret’s church in Silverstream. After a relaxing photo shoot in the shade of the Pauahatanui inlet reserve their reception was held at The Lodge in Pauahatanui.

This wedding really had it all: tears, laugher, ballroom dancing, and chocolate truffles. My favourite moment was when Katie’s Mum came in while she was getting into her dress, the look of pure pride on her face was just heartbreaking and then she said “you look wonderful my darling” – total weep material right there.

I’ve known Katie since we were about 13, when we both had fluffy hair and a best friend/cousin in common. So it is with my whole heart that I say thank you and congratulations on snagging your perfect match! Your wedding was so fun, thank you thank you thank you for choosing me to capture it.

(please excuse a few of these photos in this post, they’ve gone weird and pixellated during resizing, I will fix them up when I come up from air (like, June…)
